What is a gatekeeper of hope

Our Mission

Hope Gatekeepers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves the community with suicide prevention and mental health awareness.

Our aim is to help our communities to:

  • Achieve their recovery goals
  • Find a safe place for them to receive care
  • Use their time in a meaningful way
  • Have healthy relationships
  • Receive free suicide prevention training
  • Weather crises successfully and;
  • Improve their overall mental health

Prevention

Nearly 800,000 people die worldwide each year from suicide, which is about one person every 40 seconds.

Environment

Recent research has shown that small increases in air pollution are linked to significant rises in depression and anxiety

Children

1 in 6 U.S. children aged 2–8 years (17.4%) had a diagnosed mental, behavioral, or developmental disorder.

Our Impact

Hope Gatekeepers has supported over 200 families in the United States with free suicide prevention training, peer-to-peer support, mental health checkups, inspirational events, and care packages to families affected by suicide. 

  • 11,520 hours given to the community
  • 1450 individuals served in Los Angeles County with free resources 
  • 102 individuals mentored
  • 35 care packages delivered to families affected by suicide
  • 25 community outreach to fire departments, city officials, and local businesses.
  • 15 volunteers that provide care, love, and hope!

Our team knows the hurt.

As survivors of suicide loss, we understand the aftermath of losing someone due to suicide. Sending out care packages to the loved ones left behind is one way we support families—because no one should feel alone or abandoned.
