Overcoming Life Battles
Equipping the next generation to overcome life battles means giving them the tools, wisdom, and support they need to face life’s challenges with strength and resilience. Mental battles come in many forms—anxiety, fear, insecurity, depression, comparison, or the pressure to succeed. By teaching young people healthy coping skills, grounding them in faith and identity, and creating safe spaces for honest conversations, we empower them to rise above what tries to break them.
It’s about more than just surviving—it’s about thriving. Equipping the next generation means showing them how to renew their minds, speak life over themselves, and lean on God’s promises when the world feels overwhelming. Through mentorship, mental health education, prayer, and practical strategies, they can learn not to be defined by their struggles but strengthened through them. When we invest in their emotional, spiritual, and mental well-being, we prepare them to walk boldly in their purpose, unshaken by the battles they face.

Celebrating 5 years
At just 22, my world was irrevocably altered when my husband, Jason, took his own life. In an instant, I became a widow and the sole parent to our nearly two-year-old daughter. The days that followed were shrouded in darkness, filled with questions, pain, and an overwhelming sense of loss.
For years, I carried this burden in silence, navigating the complexities of grief while striving to provide a semblance of normalcy for my daughter. It wasn't until 2020 that I found the courage to share my story. Unbeknownst to me, this act of vulnerability was the beginning of a healing journey orchestrated by God.
Through the depths of despair, I began to sense God's presence, guiding me gently towards healing. The once barren landscape of my life started to bloom, transforming into a garden of hope. Each step forward was nurtured by faith, community, and the unwavering love of my daughter.
Now, 23 years later, I understand my purpose more clearly than ever. My "why" is rooted in a desire to prevent others from succumbing to the same hopelessness that claimed Jason. I am committed to using my experiences to illuminate the path for those in darkness, to offer solace, and to affirm that life, even after unimaginable loss, holds the promise of joy and meaning.

We’re building our Founding Board of Directors
HOPE Gatekeepers is a faith-based nonprofit serving young adults (18–25) across LA & San Bernardino Counties through mobile outreach, education, workforce readiness, housing access, and spiritual mentorship.
This is our one-year founding phase. After year one, we’ll hold a formal election for our long-term Governing Board (3–4 year terms). Board service is volunteer and rooted in faith, service, and impact.
